#246-365 Purple

Staying simple, stayed, nearly an hour, on this twig of newly emerging Lavender (So technically not Purple) trying, to get a shot of the dainty white butterflies that were touching down everywhere but here, or a bee if they come back (I worry where they have gone) or even the nasty looking hornet to have a sniff but they were all camera shy - Hence Purple

Ron, nice shot. Watch out for the hornets they may sneak up behind you.

That's one super closeup! I can see the texture of the pedals so well. Wow!

Sorry about the camera shy critters, but this really makes for a lovely picture - love how you caught the texture in the the bloom and the depth of field!

Very nice, even without any visitors.

Stunning! Almost looks like felt petals...very pretty! Too bad about the butterfly though...

Beautiful!! Purple is my favorite color. I tried all of last summer to get a photograph of a bee on a flower and was never successful.

Ron, I like the detail in this when I clicked on it to get a larger view. Really nice.

Nice shot, Ron. I enjoying seeing glimpses of warm days through your lens as we're freezing over here!

Fantastic shot. If only pictures could convey the scent as well. Great job.

This is so pretty, Ron! Even without a bee or butterfly.
We should be very worried when the bees disappear. They are like the canary in the coal mine. I didn't see as many here last summer as in years past.

Great work. I'm confused reading about arguments over the difference between indigo and violet so I'm not going to touch lavender.
Are the leaves of this plant purple? Do I see a flower on the lower left?

I never knew what lavender looked like so close up. Nice one, Ron...

Beautiful! I can even see the velvet on the petals. Great macro shot.

This is gorgeous. The color is perfect! I'm kind of glad there's no flutterers to distract the eye!

Well, maybe a bug woulda been cool, but the purple alone is still lovely.

As you I often find the small flying critters camera shy. It's hard to capture them in pictures. But you have really succeeded with this macro photo, can almost feel the lovely scent of lavender.
