#333-365 Tower

This is just the AAMI (An Insurance Company) Tower, in Queen St Brisbane, but looking up at it from street level on the North Eastern corner gave what is to me an eye-pleasing series of Lines, Angles and shades. This is primarily due to the surrounding buildings which from this corner are snugly close, without crowding. The view from the North Western corner had too much open space and lacked this shot's appeal.

Sally also pointed out that the St George Bank, seen on a lower lvel to the east is infact no longer a bank, having been taken over by The Westpac Banking conglomorate, Sally knows as they made her swap the few shares she had in St George for Westpac ones, just before the EGC which resulted in a 30% reversal of value. What she commented on, was that they were thereby no longer a bank, but the still trade as the St George bank, makes you wonder about banks doesn't it. "Ned Kelly" one of Australias most infamous Bush Rangers (HERE are a few references), was once quoted to say that he was no worse than the banks but at least he had the decency to wear a mask, he apparently also said just before they hanged him in Melbourne either "Such is Life" or "Tell them I died game" depending on who tells the story, if I was telling it I'd go with the last one, he was a gutsy mongrel, (An endearment for Aussie Anti Heros, who we all revere).

It's a wonderful shot, Ron, and you're right, it's full of interesting lines and angles. How nice to get the beautiful cloudy blue sky to reflecting in the building.

Super composition here Ron - really nice angles and lines like you noted in your comments. Very strong photo. (I hope you didn't get dizzy and fall over looking up like that - the Wild Turkey does give you vertigo if I recall)

Great Shot, the perpestive of the angles draw my eyes right up the frame.

Re you comments on banks - can't agree more - did you know just about every Australian is owed a refund from their bank for bank errors, but you have to know about it and you have to claim it. I wrote a book about it at http://www.WhenBanksGoBad.com

I love the shot of the buildings and blue sky! My favorite kind of pic. Maybe if the banks and insurance companies didn't spend so much on building these tall buildings they could give us more interest on our money :-0
