#161-365 It's Saturday Morning
Here is a shot of Redcliffe Jetty looking North from about the same range that I took the City Lights shot at, but for this shot I used the 70-300mm Sigma Lens, the shot was taken a week or so ago but you can see that the cold doesn't effect us much during the day.
The scene shows a ferry coming in to dock at the jetty, which is not a usual occurrence at all, and from my vantage point I noticed the Ferry and suspected that it was heading to the Jetty so sat and waited to get this shot.
I have often tried to understand why there is no ferry service into the city from here as there is no rail service although as you know we have a station. A hint maybe in the circuitous course they sailed to get there. They seemed to sail up almost level to the jetty before turning back almost in a direct line to where I was sitting for a little while then altering course back to the jetty. I still feel that a High Speed Catamaran Service would be a winner for daily commuters, so anyone out there with a spare $50 or 60 Million laying around doing nothing just send it down to me and I will set up the service abd take care of it all for you so that you don't have to worry about it.

There used to be a ferry service from Redcliffe to Brisbane, a very long time ago. The Redcliffe Museum has a display on it.
As for 'cold' - it's wet, rainy and cold today. Very Southern States winter!
I wasn't expecting a local comment, but was thrilled to get it so I commented on his blog as follows;
"Thanks for the comment on my Ferry Blog, And I was aware of the old service, thanks. I love the rain we are having. But the cold reference dates back to when the Northern Hemisphere was inundated with snow and I kept posting water sports and sunny days ""To Make Them Feel Better"" They said they couldn't wait til I suffered WINTER so I am showing the Just how cold it gets, Ha Ha.
P.S. I will be posting this reply to you on my blog, hope you don't mind."
And to be honest who needs to live where the air freezes solid, 53.6%F is plenty cold enough thanks.
Another beautiful water photograph. You are very patient to sit and wait like that. I like to ferry moving along in this photo.
Hmm. He is a she.... ;)
Sorry bout that but people who try to flog Rhubarb Wine are normally Male - In my limited experience, No Slight Intended. Thanks for pointing out my insensitivity, I will try to do better in future. Just so long as you are feeling Hale and Hearty.
That water just sparkles - how beautiful! Love the composition here! By the way, your check is in the mail.
Great shot, great idea---the cheque is in the mail!
