#175-365 Logs
Well maybe this should be subtitled "Afters". This is a shot of the woodchop section of the Redcliffe Showgrounds following our recent show, The stands that you can see all in a row are where the Logs are held in place while sundry individuals assault them with axes. The last Woodchop competition that I attended (Atherton North Queensland)there was a young 23 year old who thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but on the day he came up against a former, World Champion who in spite of being 72 years old looked in good nick to me, and as the bookies were offering 10 -1 against him winning, I thought it was worth a $20 bet, and really it was the easiest $200 I ever made cause I didn't even need to lift the axe. The old guy had finished and was just licking the paper on his rollie when the young guy came back to earth - With a Thud!

Now that is funny, looks can be deceiving...
Great shot! And glad you could prove that youth isn't everything!
Nice story of a wanna be getting his comeuppance! And good photo as well.
*lol* Great story (as always)!
Hi Ron,
Great Shot!! Goes to prove age isn't everything. Being "old" is sometimes better! Have a great day!

Sliced bread is quite overrated. Great interpretation of this theme!
Cool story. I would love to see that competition.
Neat approach to theme. I saw one of these contests on tv once, dangerous!
