#032-365 Boy

Just up from the Hand sculptures I found this delightful sculpture of a young boy apparently being harassed by a large bird with a smaller bird between his feet, it wasn't clear if he was defending the small bird with the ropes whipping around his head or just driving off the bird which was protecting it's young.
The figure stands outside an Italian restaurant attached to the Marriott Hotel, also on Queen Street Brisbane. I apologize if the work seems hard to discern but the figure is anatomically correct and a front on view may have offended some. As you all know I am a Gentleman (As defined by Oscar Wilde - Who said "A Gentleman is one who would never offend, another person's sensibilities - Unintentionally) So if I can't offend you all I'm just not going to do it.

That's a very interesting statue. I wonder what inspired the artist to do something so unique. It's a great shot Ron and thanks for being considerate about the full frontal view!

Well, he is standing in a bed of 'mother-in-law's tongue' so he already got the sharp side of the blade. Very graceful statue.

Would you be offended if we wanted to be offended? Nice shot but as often the commentary is as fun.

You're too funny, Ron! We appreciate you did not want to offend our delicate sensibilities!!!

That is a most unusual statue, but it is very beautiful.

Great sculpture. The angle of the shot is perfect.

So good of you to protect us all - the shock may have jolted my old ticker and we wouldn't want that. Nice capture - you always seem to come back to birds somehow.

doesn't look like he eats there every day though. I go into an Italian restaurant once and I gain 5 lbs. lol
