I've been around a bit but had never up until this moment seen a Convent up for sale before. Had to photograph it, and as I was doing so a local family strolled pass. (Glen Innes Northern New South Wales) so trying to be pleasant I commented, "I have never seen a Convent for sale before" in the larconic manner of most Australian rural Inhabitants the man raised his hat and said "Already Sold (short pause) by a house of Ill Repute in Sydney, they are planning a training College".As they pulled away I heard his wife saying "you will never get to heaven if you keep on joking like that" and his daughter adding "and we aren't coming down to visit you either"! You just have to love country folks.
Catholic Convent so now confession time, most of my shots are virtually straight out of the camera, but in this one the sky was hopeless - Nothing - Nada - Nil - Zip - Zilch so I added spme cloud that I snapped in the same town the next morning. Would appreciate ANY comment cause it is not something I do often and I need feedback.
I knew I'd blow it but Alibony365 found my deliberate (I wish) mistake and given the following advice for which I am thankful.
Tip 1: Remember to select all areas where white sky peeks through.
Tip 2: At the horizon line, blue skies start to turn pale. Sometimes adding a gradient black-and-white mask to the sky layer lightens the lower edges of the blend.
Still trying to decide if I redo it or just leave it stand, I think it will be redine but not reposted. Thanks.

The sky looks perfectly natural...you were lucky you has some strong lines in the building and not too much detail in the trees. Sometimes replacing the sky gets to be just too much trouble! I say, go for it as long as it looks natural. I never saw a convent for sale, either. I have heard of a house of ill repute being for sale in Nevada....

I love the story! Great illustration for this theme. The sky fits perfectly (I need to learn how to do that!) and I like your angle on the shot. That, and the color, make me think of an old-fashioned post card.

I would have never known you changed the sky if you wouldn't have told us. Then again, if you hadn't told us, you probably wouldn't be going to Heaven, and all of us probably wouldn't visit you down there! :) Great picture and even better story!
Good job with the sky, Ron. I go with the group when I say that I don't have too much luck with that. This is such a funny and interesting story. I guess you could make an unusual bed and breakfast out of it.
