#346-365 Urban
Again I stretch the theme title "A TAD" this is actually a shot out over the town of Glenn Innes in the New England Area of Northern New South Wales. This delightful little village is so Idyllic that I had to include it under this title as that is how all Urban Life used to be when I was growing up.
I don't understand why these little towns are dying at present (And alas they are) because anyone with any wherewithall could move there and assure their children the rich wholesome adolescence that I enjoyed. Cities today are scary. Country life gives the kids freedom to get out and explore their independence without weirdos endangering them.
This shot was taken right on dusk and I have played with the light levels but it came out looking so different from what I saw that I went back to the OOC shot primarily for that light.

I think the light is perfect, Ron. You've caught a sleepy little town saying goodnight to another fine day.
Nice looking town and a bit more urban than the area I grew up. Nicely done!
I like the light, too. I would much rather live in a suburban setting than the city!
What a beautiful little village, love the lighting you caught and how the tree frames the one side of the image! This takes you back to a time w/ a slower paced life (which would be nice for a while)!
Nice picture of a great little town. I too can't understand why anyone would live in a city. I think Flagstaff is the largest place I have lived (and I am really 20 miles outside Flagstaff) Our little are - called Munds Park - has 1000 residents and lots of trees, hiking areas, coyotes, elk etc. So much nicer than busses and cars
Certainly is more idyllic than any urban scene around here! Nice idea for the theme...
Your photograph shows exactly what you wanted. Nice job.
Hi Ron,
Great shot! I like it the way it is! You are truly right about living and growing up there. It's would be kind of scary living in a big city! Have a great day!!
Sherrie
Yes, cities today are scary. But the weirdos have moved to sleepy idyllic little towns too. There is no place that is totally safe in today's world. Your sleepy little town is about ready to go to bed in this dusk shot. :D I can tell your passion for the rural life. I grew up that way too.
It looks like a lovely town - nice perspective looking down on the whole village.
Keep posting these nice shots and you might convince me to move there - then you might be in trouble, especially if I invited Tammy to visit! The tree to the right framing the shot really makes this one special. Good job!
This is a great picture, Ron. The light is perfect and I love how you framed the picture with a tree limb. Your philosophy is also right on.
Wow, this is an other really good shot, Ron. The clouds are really interesting. the tree adds depth, and the scene is very pastoral!! Great shot!
Beautifully captured, Ron. The only thing I could suggest would be a few twinkling lights.
It is lovely and the light sets a nice mood. Nice to see towns with lots of trees.
