Some more flowers
Here are a few more flower shots, I will be honest (For once) I am not a big flower lover, hence my dearth of comments on your blogs on flowers, but I am learning to see and marvel at the colours.
Sally commented on your concerns about the seasonality of our plants and suggested that you might be interested in, these. The first four are what she informs me were called Christmas Cactus in her youth in Wales G.B. She thinks they are now called Zygot but fears that may have changed recently too. (See why I don't mess around with HOR-TI-CULTURE) Apparently in more Northern Climes they also bloom around Christmas too, I find the colour pleasing to the eye but the boy in me is more attracted to the thorniness of the plant.
The Bottom left shot is a White Poinsetia, which a friend of Sally's North of here (100k) had growing and when Sally admired it she broke off a twig and told Sally to just stick it in the garden, which she did. Sally says that it is a bit scraggly but when it stops flowering she will give it a good haircut and mould it into something she can like. I have had the haircut (I used to be feral) but only limited moulding to date, but who can tell what Sally's plans are with you twisted Systers egging her on. The red foliage in the background are the red poinsetia's that I photographed earlier.
The bottom right is in fact what I had been led to believe was the correct term for boys interested in flowers, it also grows in Sally's garden.

Hi Ron,
Beautiful flowers!! The bottom one looks like what we call a morning glory! Have a great day!!
Sherrie
Those are some beautiful flowers - most of them do now grow in my area - except the flowers boys who like flowers should be named after (he who shall not be mentioned)! BTW, waiting for Sally's haircut shot..:)
Even if you don't like flowers, you've done a great job photographing them! We can only grow the Christmas cactus and poinsettia inside in our climate, so I'm always amazed to see them growing outside. And I love your description of the pansy!!!
At least you like the colour! Amazing the new things we see with this challenge. Lucky you to be able to grow poinsettas!
WOW! As soon as your blog window opened I was surprised pleasantly surprised by beautiful colors and flowers. Wonderful shots Ron!
Very interesting, Ron. Pansies (the flowers, not the boys) are a cool weather plant here. You see them in the spring here in the midwest, in the fall in some of the southern coastal states. Poinsettias are a hot house plant generally seen around Christmas here and generally considered a bit delicate regarding the winter cold here.
Ron, That's a "PANSY" Never knew that you were a horocultrististice.
Even though you are not a big flower lover these shots are beautiful. Nice job!!
Very nice clarity in your flower shots Ron. We'll bring out your gentle feminine side yet!
Great job with the flowers even thought your not into it...
We appreciate you stepping outside the flower box to share your beautiful flowers with all of us!
