#134-365 Grunge

I don't pretend to understand this concept, for me the word has always had the connotation of "Schungy" or "Reprehensible", so when I read of the more talented of you attempting a grunge look, my first question is "WHY"?

I have read what lots of clever people have had to say about it but still don't get it, unless this is "Grunge". I have done nothing to this shot except adjust some lighting, it is a marsh disbursement/ storm water canal, which normally displays quite off putting coatings of slime and the like. As I was walking over the small bridge following a quite heavy down pour I noticed it at what I consider it's best, which I tried to capture here, and I am rather proud of this shot, as to me it now has a slight appeal in appearance.

I would say this definitely has a grungy appearance - only you would go out and look for sewage runoff. LOL No, really, I like what you came up w/, the smooth dirty water shows hints of reflections and some interesting colors and contrasts!

I really like the picture and the junk on the water. Grunge to me is just kind of an urban gritty look. I don't know what it means to anyone else though.

And well you should be proud of that shot. The reflections and colors are quite appealing and kudos to you for keeping your eyes open to notice this. Well done!

Hi Ron,
I'm with you on "grudge". I don't get either. Great photo, with all the colors and textures! See, sewage can be beautiful, kind of!
