#166-365 Larger than Life

It would appear that Oscar the Beagle is in no way intimidated by a Pterodactyl sized Pelican, or it could just be that being a local at Noosa, his daily walks mean that they have met before and further introductions would be just time wasting.

And time wasting was not what Oscar was about, a perfunctory pat from me was all he needed before he was ready to continue his walk along the Noosa River foreshore path, a truely wonderful way to start the day.

I met a Council Worker cleaning up around 6.30am and mentioned the Pelican and she said that it was the big drawcard for her two toddler girls who couldn't wait to get down and see the really Big Birdie. I wasn't the only one that got up with the sun to perambulate along this pleasant walkway, with only occasional disturbance by people who had an unhealthy attitude towards fitness (They were actually running), but more than a hundred of us were more realistic and just ambled, which I believe is the accepted speed limit along this walkway.

Just being awake at 6:30 AM is an unhealthy attitude in my book. I guess you were just coming home at that hour Ron? It did give you the opportunity to capture a nice shot here so that does make the early rising worthwhile.

I am sure that beagle and the pelican are real tight by now. The dog probably already marked him a long time ago. :) I can't believe those runners either, what are they trying to do - show us walkers up?? How rude!

Oscar knows Pelicans prefer fish, and he's a dog, not a fish! That pelican looks pretty interested in whatever that little shop sells, though. Seafood?

Very cute shot!! Your new found friend Oscar is rather small in comparison to the pelican!! Nice to see that you were up and out early.

Two black and white ships, I mean creatures, passing in the night. OK, morning. What a cute photo and WOW, that pelican is huge!!!

That is some big pelican - and he/she looks like she's ready to lay a humungous egg, too! Great comic contrast with the little dog.
